Alphabetical Dates

Throughout 2017, we had a goal of making our way through the alphabet for themed dates! I can't take credit for the idea. I found a post about it on Pinterest (which you can see here - complete with a whole list of ideas, if you're looking for a multitude of options). But this is our list of alphabetical dates, which proved to be SO MUCH FUN!!!


* Letter A  - Adoption party, Appetizer dinner, shopping at stores that start with A
* Letter B - BBQ dinner and Borrowed Board games
* Letter C  - Coffee shop Crawl (visiting 3 coffee shops in town over 3 days)
* Letter D - Downtown Dinner Double Date
* Letter E  - Early bird date - breakfast with Eggs and Espresso
* Letter F  - Fantastic and Failure all at once. Fellowship, Free Food and a Fun Flick!
* Letter G  - Gaither Vocal Band Concert (planned entirely by Ryan as a surprise for me!)
* Letter H - Happy Birthday Date with Hamburgers and a trip to Highland Park!
* Letter I  - Walk through IWU's campus, Ice cream over shortcake at Ivanhoe's
* Letter J  - Java from Starbucks, Jammies at home, and some rounds of Jenga
* Letter K - Kabobs for dinner, a Kid's birthday party, car Karaoke, and Kissing!
* Letter L - Lobster and Langostino pizza, Lemonade, and Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie
* Letter M - Modified Date of Mexican food at Mi Familia and Meeting up with friends!
* Letter N - New Experiences: Lisa's Pies, Escape Room, Bub's Burgers and more!
* Letter O - Outdoor Open House at a Sunflower Oil farm!
* Letter P - Polar Pops and Pizza Picnic in the Park and a game of Putt Putt
* Letter Q - Quiet Night at Home with Quesadillas and a Fun Quiz/Questionnaire
* Letter R - Romantic Rooftop(ish) Rendezvous in the Ritzy Rotating Restaurant
* Letter S - Supper at Sonic, Selfies around town, Significant Spots and Special Gifts!
* Letter T - Tiny House Tours and Food Trucks
* Letter U - Unique service project Unplanned (By Us, anyway)
* Letter V - Vintage Voyage!
* Letter W - Wonderful Waterfront date: Walking the beaches and kayaking in a clear kayak
* Letter X - Xtra loud music at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert!
* Letter Y - Yuletide fun at the Biltmore Estate!
* Letter Z - Zipping up the year!


We counted this project a great success, and here is our list of reasons why we loved it! We hope you can find the inspiration to do something similar in your own life!

This is awesome! As ‘old’ newlyweds, ages 67 and 70, we committed when we got married four months ago to intentionally date each Friday. Sometimes it’s simple things, sometimes more involved, but planned together time! This sounds like something we can do this year!
