We knew going into this past
week that we weren’t going to be able to stick to our tightened up eating plan,
because we had many places to be throughout the week! We didn’t worry about it,
enjoyed our time and meals, and we’ll be returning to the simplified plan
today. But here are some of the fun things we enjoyed throughout the week!
Monday: Taco Salad
Thoughts: We were getting ready to be gone for
several days, so we cleaned out the refrigerator with taco salad - complete with fresh cherry tomatoes from the garden!
Tuesday: Dinner at the Ballpark
Thoughts: This dinner was part of our free
night out at Parkview Field. They had a buffet of options. I got a plain burger
with a little mac and cheese and some apple crisp – and fresh fruit. Ryan did a
full hamburger sandwich and hot dog with some mac and cheese. It was all really
good!
Wednesday: Dinner at CJ’s Highmarks
Thoughts: Our first dinner at out the Staff Retreat
was at a restaurant we really like: CJ’s Highmarks over in Celina, Ohio. I
chose tilapia with veggies. I typically don’t order fish at restaurants, but I
really liked it and would order it again! Ryan got one of their specials, which
was a spring roll meal. He was imagining it would be a little bigger, but he
said it was good.
Thursday: Dinner at Do Good
Thoughts: I first learned about Do Good
(Osgood, Ohio) last year on the staff retreat, and Ryan and I have been over
there a couple of times since to celebrate special occasions. This time I chose
whitefish with green beans and cauliflower rice, and Ryan chose a personal
pizza. Both were excellent!
Friday: Leftovers
Thoughts: Both of us had half our Do Good meal
left, so this is what we ate on Friday night. It was tasty!
Saturday: Wraps and Subs
Thoughts: I went shopping on Saturday and got
a Greek chicken wrap while I was out to lunch. I only ate half of it and
brought the other half home for dinner. (And forgot to get a good picture of
it. Sorry!) I stopped to get Ryan a steak sub at Subway for his dinner!
Sunday: Pizza
Thoughts:
This one was NOT in
the plan, but sometimes things aren’t, right? I had planned to cook Saturday
night, and when that did not happen, we did not have leftovers for Sunday. It
was baptism Sunday, so we got home really late and ended up ordering a pizza to
eat on throughout the day. It was good. Not great for us, but tasted great!
