You Guys Are Great

I just wanted to pause in the middle of all my Shafferland stories to tell you....

YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!!!!

I've been blogging for almost seven years - almost exactly, actually - and when I started this adventure, I did it because one of my co-workers set up a blog, named it Bekah's Bits, handed me the URL and the password and said, "Here. You should blog."

I was petrified out of my mind. My list of about three {sympathy} readers stuck with me and I chattered hesitantly...and then more and more often...about whatever was on my mind. Usually I told stories about my cat {...and then cats...and then back to just cat...} and offered samplings of Bible studies I'd written.

It took me forever to find my voice on this thing - but along the way of working through becoming content with being single...processing all that came with the tornado that took out my sister's house, church and town...falling into the darkest place ever with the heartbreak of my love-loss with Isaac...and much, much more, you showed up.

You showed up with words and hugs and cards and love, and you were so good to me. I've made actual, real-life friends through this thing, which absolutely BLOWS my mind.

And you stayed a while! You celebrated with me as I transitioned to my job at WBCL, and then you really celebrated with me when God brought Ryan along!

Every day I show up here and yammer about something - whether food or Pinterest projects or self-worth or Shafferland stories - and I never stop to thank YOU for showing up here every day and reading along!

I do appreciate you. So very much. And I thought it was high time I took a break to tell you that!

Big, big hugs to you, dear bloggy friends!!!

{And if there's anything I've not yammered about that you wish I would, just tell me!! Sorry, I've already been told I can't stop yammering, so if that's what you're hoping for, I'm not sure I can help you!!}

Keep on yammering!!! I look forward to it everyday. :) I wish I would have known about your blog since the beginning, but I discovered it when you arrived at WBCL. However, I am loving going back and reading all that I missed! Love you Bekah...even though you don't know me. Is that creepy?!?! :) :)

I have learned so much from reading your blog, Bekah! And here I thought I knew it all at my age! :o) But, no. From you I've learned decorating ideas, new Bible truths, new recipes, vacation ideas, places to eat, encouragement, and the list goes on. You help to start my day off on a happy note: add coffee and devotions and I'm good to go! Thank YOU for the time you put into giving us all these "gifts" as we travel this road of life together. God made you special and I thank Him for that!

It has been an honor to see a glimpse of your struggles and your triumphs as well as the funny stuff to along the way. It is also humbling to see how you respond to all of your readers as well. I admire that. I also appreciate how the comments of your readers add to what you say.

Bekah!! Your blog is a delight! I have been in Florida and just caught up on all your posts and goodness gracious where to start?

I loved all the recent posts and i love to cook for my family too and i truly love all the posts where you include what you eat! :) Those sloppy joes looked fab but how did you cook that asparagus? In Florida recently we had some that had been brown butter sauteed or something? I don't even like asparagus but this was YUM. Must have been the butter.

And running... i am super duper proud of you! This is coming from a girl who used to run and no longer runs and thinks you are a rock star for doing so. and darn that bob Harper!! I love him but still... don't want you injured.

I am sad your friends are moving! Hopefully not too far away?

Ryans family must just adore you!

That twitter feed about the Pastors and the sports bra thing... SO funny.

so yes, more recipes and date night stories and shoot.. all of it. I love your blog! God is using you in so many ways, sweet girl!

XOXO

and yay for BLT on Thursday again! woop woop! :) happiness.

Polly - WELCOME HOME!! Did you bring this stinkin' humidity with you? LYNNE actually taught me how to cook asparagus. Really easy: Bring water to a boil, put the asparagus in it for one minute to blanch it (blanche? blanch? whatever.) then put it in a skillet with about a Tbsp of butter and some seasoned salt- cook until it's not crispy but not overly limp. Doggone that Bob Harper and his video!! GOod thing I like him so much! Thanks for alllllllll the blog love!!

Natasha - YES! Ryan wants to know how close you are to Niagara Falls. :)
