I confess. Easter did not seem like Easter this year. AT. ALL. I didn't get to decorate for it because my decorations were packed. Because of all the house/moving stuff, we didn't get to attend any pre-Easter services {Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter Pageant...nothing.} Because I'm getting a new dress later this year for my niece's wedding, I didn't get a new dress for Easter for the first time in my life.We didn't even do baskets this year because we were too busy to shop. Now that is just sad.
We did, however, go to church on Easter, and I wore a recycled dress from two years ago. I almost made it all the way through the service before becoming unbearably hot and leaving to get ice water and cool air. And then we went to two Easter lunches, where we contributed NO food, because our kitchen was packed.
So here is a peek at our really strange Easter.
REALLY strange. LOL!
We wanted one last Easter photo shoot by our big backyard tree, and while we were trying to test the timer, the above photo happened. We are so quirky.
But then the serious photos:
Our "Easter basket." We bought a pack of Reese's eggs {one of our favorite things} and "gave" them to each other. Pathetic and funny all at the same time.
First stop after church? My parents' house to have lunch with them and my Aunt B. I was attempting to photograph Mom's cute little centerpiece...
Mom, Aunt B and I got the color coordination memo! {Actually this was entirely coincidental.}
Family lunch. Somewhere along the line, the photo went south. I have no idea who would do a thing like that.
Lunch was delicious {no thanks to us} and then we scurried to Ryan's side of the family for the Easter egg hunt. Ryan helped the kids. {Or lived vicariously through them??}
And can you even just handle this cuteness????
I didn't hunt eggs this year. I just took pictures and got my kiddo fix! {The one in my lap bounced the entire time I had him. No stopping. I'm actually not sure how he's NOT a blur in this picture.}
A good day, despite it being totally out of the Easter norm!

Family time makes an holiday great. Looks like you had a wonderful day.
Looks like a fun day all around!
I cannot believe that your niece is getting married! I feel old! I remember when she used to come visit you in college.
I'm loving the house pictures, by the way, and so excited for you and Ryan as you move into your new home together. I know from experience that wallpaper is a nasty beast, but you'll be so glad you did all this work before you actually move in. It's much easier that way.
Our Easter was so weird, too, as we made it to the early church service and then headed to the airport for a quick trip to Miami. No normal traditions (except church) but it was worth it when the kids ran to the beach in the pitch dark after we arrived at our hotel in Miami. There's nothing wrong with switching things up a bit!! Your Easter pics look lovely.
I think I will also get a new dress for your niece's wedding.

Tamar - we sure tried!!
Polly - I am done with the Fix, and we moved on to the Insanity workout, but I confess the process of moving and unpacking has messed with the meal plan AND the workouts! {But moving is a workout!!}
Odie - We did!!
Christina - I know! I am much too young for her to get married! MUCH too young! :) And the moving is coming right along. Much to settle in yet.
Maria! I have missed you! So good to hear from you! :) Easter in Florida sounds heavenly!
Lori - I think you should!
Thanks to the ice storm our Easter was pretty weird this year too. We only went to the Sunday morning Easter service, which is the best one in my opinion, and the kids did an egg hunt at church. All our Easters in Edmonton were odd and I remember the first Sunday back in Ontario it was just so amazing to be back for Easter that I cried.
