My Grateful List

I had an English teacher in the 8th grade...Mrs. Costello...that always did our assignments with us. She said she didn't think teachers should ask their students to do anything they weren't willing to do, so anytime she assigned us a writing project, she did it too. I thought that was pretty impressive. (Especially when we wrote poetry. I hated poetry. Couldn't imagine why she'd subject herself to it.)

So Sunday, when I asked the Sunday School class to write their thankfulness, I did too. Mine were the little things. The easily overlooked, yet no less cause for thanks.

* Fleece sheets. (When you're too frugal to turn on the heat, you appreciate things like that.)

* Waterproof mascara. (When you "cleanse" as much as I do, you need it.)

* Seatbacks at football games. (Self-explanatory.)

* Wide margins in Bibles. (I take lots of notes.)

* Hot water. (Sometimes if I can't get warm, I resort to a hot shower.)

* Frappes. (Little pleasures in life.)

* Braeya. (Even when she's trying to murder me via knocking the picture off the wall.)

* The morning guys. (That would be the morning team at work. Those three crack me up every day.)

* Free dinners. (Had a couple last week.)

* Whipped cream. (Still thinking about the frappes.)

* Pretty sunrises. (If you have to be on the road at such an hour, it makes it bearable.)

* The internet. (Never feel too lonely when I can talk to people!)

* Books. (Ahhhh, sweet books.)

* In-the-ear-headphones. (They don't mess up my hair.)

* Lynne. (What a gift to my life!)
