Things I've Learned...

...since becoming a commuter.

* There is a very critical piece of timing between two stoplights I drive through each day. Failing to turn on red at the first one means you'll never make the second one. Ever.

* Whether they're illegally texting or just generally oblivious, a shocking (and annoying!) number of people won't move over to let me on the interstate, even if the lane is wide open for them to do so.

* Gas is cheaper in Fort Wayne. Sometimes a LOT cheaper.

* Sometimes it's easier to pack an entire bag of lettuce and cheese and throw in an entire bottle of salad dressing, because the three minutes required to portion it out...could be used for sleep instead.

* Coming home requires an hour of down time.

* Not living a block from work turns me into a pack mule every day. Minimum of three bags.

* School buses look a lot like fire trucks in the dark (when they're stopped with their lights on.

* My GPS has a warped sense of pronunciation. Goshen = GOSHen. ParNELL = PARNul. Coldwater = Cowldwater.

* There's no shame in needing evening caffeine too.
