Today's blog post begins with a little video message from yours truly. I appreciate the way the thing froze at the most awkward possible facial expression:
I'll give you a minute. I couldn't believe it either, so I understand your shock.
I would like to say a couple of things about this adventure.
1. I am NOT doing this so I can become one of those hard core runner people. And I mean that with ALL the love in my heart for those of you reading who ARE hard core runner people. I'm not looking to take up a lifelong hobby. I don't want the rest of my days to revolve around outdoing my last personal best.
2. I AM doing this to prove to myself that I'm capable of taking a challenge. I need to step outside my comfort zone...and believe me, this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay outside my comfort zone.
3. It very well may kill me. But I sure hope not.
4. I've already thought about where I'll eat lunch when I've finished the race. Because that's the kind of girl I am.

Good luck! Misery loves company...which means my misery is loving that somebody else is crazy enough to start a running program.
LOL!! Well I'm glad your misery found some company! Oh my word. What have I done????
I can currently run 1 mile without stopping. And I have a 2.5 mile mapped out. Guess I'm on the novice program myself.
I'm so proud of you! I have run one mile without stopping ONCE. and it's unlikely to happen again. :(
In thinking about it, I'm not sure I'm even up to novice yet. Is there a pre-novice program?
There is not. Let's create one. Wanna?
Day one: eat a chocolate chip cookie. Your turn!
Day two: skip run in favor of sleeping longer. At least that's what I did on day two.
Day three. Plan to run, then skip because it looks like it might storm. Then when there's barely enough time to change your mind before dark...go run. Not that I've ever done that.
