But in Kelly's honor, I'm posting a recipe I got from her blog. I first made it last Christmas and I loved it so much I've made it several times since. Talk about an addicting snack food!
This is super easy to make and even a single batch makes quite a bit. I used this as one of the things in my Christmas gift bag last year. (At work, I give all my co-workers little goody bags of homemade treats.) They loved having something salty in with all the sweet treats.
This also makes a great thing for a big get together (like football games or Thanksgiving or New Year's). And I think when Kelly posted it on her blog, she said it was something she loved to take back to college with her when she'd just visited home.
The Recipe
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (12 ounce) package oyster crackers
Preheat oven to 275 degrees. In a mixing bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, ranch-style dressing mix, dill weed, lemon pepper and garlic powder. Pour this spice mixture over the crackers in a medium bowl, and stir until the crackers are coated. Arrange the crackers on a large baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
When I tried to find lemon pepper, all I could find was something called "Lemon and Pepper Seasoning Salt" so I got that. Works fine.
...and mix it up.
