The Saturday Six

One.

Oh man. This huge DIY upholstered bulletin board??? I love it!!! Can you even imagine all the things I could store on this?

Two.

Food delivery subscriptions are popular, but this was one I hadn't heard of before this week. Imperfect foods delivery. Have you heard of it? They're trying to eliminate food waste by distributing food that grocery stores would reject based on appearance (oddly shaped vegetables, off-sized eggs, etc.). I enjoyed reading about it!

Three.

If you have kids (or kids in your life who like to draw pictures for you), check out this really great idea for preserving the art without keeping every single scrap of paper. I LOVE IT!

Four.

I love it when Tamar does posts of funny things said in her classroom. She had a new collection of funnies this week!

Five.

If you're making your way through the Gospels this year, here is the February reading plan! (I did this plan in a non-leap year, so I didn't have a reading for the 29th, but there is one day with a double reading, so you could undo that doubling and space it evenly for the month if you want!)

Six.

I told you yesterday that I used the 1 Second Everyday app in January to make a little video clip collage of our month. Here is our final video for January!

I’ve been watching videos from The Minimal Mom on YouTube (helpful even though I am not a mom). I happened to be watching a video this morning and she talked about getting rid of your kids toys, etc. She said that you need to keep your kids’ trust, and when you throw things out without asking, you could lose some of their trust. She did say, though, that when her kids leave things out and on the floor, she gives them a chance to pick it up, but then they know that it will be thrown out if they don’t. That’s kind of the opposite of the gal who made the books of her son’s artwork who said she will sometimes recycle his artwork without without asking him. One tactic the minimal mom does, though, is that she will suggest to her child that they put the item in a box and store it in the basement, and if they realize they don’t need it or ask about it after a certain number of months, then they let it go. I think she calls it putting those items in quarantine!

Thank you for linking to Tamar's blog -- her post was hilarious and my whole family enjoyed it. I also particularly loved the one second for January 25 (the snow). And I agree with Shari -- two seconds would be even better. This was a little too quick for me :)

Shari and Natasha - it is fast, isn't it? There is a 3 second version through this app, but you have to pay for that upgrade. One second is free. (How cheap am I?)

Natasha - She does those posts periodically and they are always a total HOOT!!! She has the funniest students!

Tracy - I don't know that I could pitch stuff for a kiddo without asking (as I know the blogger did) but I loved how her book turned out. Much easier to look through it than rifling through papers that are huge!
