Each month I share with you goals
that I make for that month. Sometimes, in addition to those, I also make quiet
little goals for my day planner. They’re almost always little daily hopes that
aren’t wildly significant in the grand scheme, but I enjoy marking them off
each day.
In
November, I made a goal to do something creative every day. There were no
parameters on the goal. It could be simple or complex.
Scrapbooking.
Trying a new recipe. Switching up a decoration in the house. Trying something
new with my hair. Writing something different. Working on a vacation plan. Taking
pictures.
What
I learned from this experiment was that each day’s endeavor brought an extra
measure of joy to that day. It’s not that the days were bad without the
creativity. It’s just that they were that much nicer with it included.
I
love that the Ultimate Creator gave us a bit of that desire for our own lives.
I love how creating fosters life.
I
also know that not everyone thrives on creativity the same way I do, and that
is okay. But as we break open this brand new month – this final month of
the year – I encourage you to dare to imagine how a little daily creativity
could change your days in the most beautiful of ways.
You
don’t have to take up a whole new hobby or buy something expensive. Creativity
can be simple and free – and bring simplicity and freedom right along with it.
Think
about it! Could be a great Christmas present to YOU!
