Not long after Ryan and I came home
from our anniversary trip, we had a fun date-night-out to attend the first
annual Light Up Glow-in-the-Dark parade near our home. The night was SO COLD, so
we weren’t upset that the parade was a short one. It probably lasted 20
minutes, tops? There were some adorably decorated vehicles, though, and we had
fun watching and waving.
We
went a little early to walk around and enjoy the town lights, including the Christmas
tree.
We
scoped out our spot to watch the parade, and Ryan kept warm by doing push ups.
(Truth!)
Then
we watched the parade…
And
then Ryan had signed up to work the information booth at the (also first annual)
Christkindlmarkt in town. So we headed over to work that. He grabbed some
wassail, and I had to wait for the hot chocolate to be ready. (Guess it was popular!)
There
was a picture that had me in it with the rest of the crew, taken by the staff
photographer, but I haven’t been able to find it online, so just imagine that I’m
there. (The picture is actually really funny to me, because I didn’t think I
was supposed to be in it, because everyone else was from Swiss Village. So I crouched
down on the floor of the chalet, out of sight, but they told me to stand up and
be in the picture. Well, when I did, I got the worst cramp in my stomach, from
being all folded up under the counter. It wouldn’t relax, so I can only imagine
what my face looked like as I tried to be cool while really feeling
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!)
At
the end of the night, Ryan had to clean the warming tent tables, so he headed
out with his wassail and cleaning bucket.
It
was kind of a strange little date night, but we had fun, and that’s what
matters!
