12th Anniversary Getaway: The Long Trek Home

 

Thanks for coming along with us on a virtual vacation over the past few days. Hope you enjoyed the adventures! This trip wasn’t the first time we came home the day after our anniversary, and whenever that happens, it’s always so sad. But that’s how the timing worked out this time. Our plan was to drive the whole trip in one day, which was supposed to take about 9 hours. It ended up being 12 with stops.

            We had breakfast in our hotel, which had started a new phase of construction since the day before, so that made for an interesting backdrop!

            Packed up the car and left the hotel around 8:25 a.m. At 4 p.m. we were STILL in Pennsylvania. I wasn’t sure the state would ever end.

            The day was made up of many coffee stops, a lot of coffee and conversation, some Bible study, and an array of weather experiences.

            Ryan and I have always loved road trips, starting with that very first one we took 12 years ago on our way to Florida to get married.

            We decided next year we should definitely choose a warmer destination, but we loved this trip and the many funny stories we collected along the way.
