At Last...Our Tenth Anniversary!

You've put up with a LOT of vacation recap over the last few days! We finally made it to the day of our actual anniversary!

The Lord blessed us with an absolutely beautiful day, and we were so grateful. We walked to a little cafe for breakfast, and it was delicious. And it was so cute! It was called 2 Birds Coffee and Cafe.

After we ate, we took an elevator ride to the top floor of the building where we stayed. We were on the 7th floor, but we went all the way up to the 24th floor to check out the view. Whew! That was high!
We went down to the beach to do our annual recreated pictures (that will be another post for another day) and had fun with a few extra pictures while we were there!

We had a little extra time, so we watched our wedding video:
Our original plan for our "big" anniversary celebration was a dinner cruise, but even though our anniversary fell on a Friday, they weren't sailing that day. I was so sad! But Ryan found a fantastic plan B that ended up being so much fun. We went on a tiki boat sunset cruise!

The boat was literally a little tiki hut that floated. It held six people (plus the captain) and while we were permitted to bring our own food and/or drinks on board, they didn't provide anything for us other than ice. We decided just to take water with us and went for dinner later. We went out into the bay and were supposed to see the sunset, but alas, a low cloud ended up killing the last part of the sunset. Never fear, though, because right about the time that was happening, we found several pods of dolphins and got to see them up close!! It was such a sweet end to our anniversary, and we took LOTS of pictures. (I will give you a small sampling of the nearly 400 we took. (The dolphins didn't leap high, so don't over-expect.)

We got to see Brittany Spears' house while we were in the bay. The captain said it was the only celebrity house in that area.

This is where the sunset ended and the dolphins began:
All photo credit for the sunset and dolphin pictures is Ryan's. I was taking video on my phone.

Here's a video clip!

It was dark by the time we got back to shore, but we had the best time. It was so unique, so fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had planned to go to a place called McGuire's Irish Pub for dinner. I actually heard about it at the dentist a few months ago - ha! But when we left the marina, we had to make a left to get there, and there was traffic as far as the eye could see headed that way. No breaks. So we scrapped that plan and turned right instead. We ended up at a Smash Burger! Fun fact: this is the second time in a decade we have landed at a Smash Burger on our anniversary after Plan A didn't work out. It was yummy!

We ate outside. It was the last hurrah before coming home. (To the cold. But I digress.)

After we got back to the Airbnb, we exchanged cards, ate our cupcakes and had our sparkling grape juice, and read our anniversary letters from last year and wrote new ones to be opened next year!

It was the most wonderful day, and I am so thankful for Ryan's willingness to celebrate so fully each year. He makes every occasion a true joy, and I love him so. (Not just because of that, but also because of that!)

The only bad thing was we had to end the day by packing to come home! We left super early the next morning, so we packed everything we could the night before. Womp womp!!!

I would love a floating Tiki Hut a thousand times more than a dinner cruise, but that's just me!
