My goal had been to fit two at-home dates into the month of February, but alas, germs overtook our house for most of the month. Ryan had a cold and then so kindly shared it with me. Since we weren't sick at the same time, we lost twice as much time to feeling yucky. We didn't have the energy to plan dates while feeling icky, so we only had one such date in February, but it was FUN!!!
The date was a salsa-themed date, and I ended up changing my mind on what to do with it partway through my planning. At first I thought it might be fun to do some sort of salsa taste-test: buy several kinds of salsa, try them all, and vote on our favorites. But that was too much like our recent root beer taste test date, so I switched it up!
Instead, we made salsa. We've never done that before, so it was really fun to try! We used this recipe I found online, and it was easy - and GOOD!
I donned gloves and did the red onion and jalapeno cutting. We learned kind of the hard way (years ago) that strong onions + jalapenos + Ryan = not a great mix. :)
We haven't cooked together in the kitchen for a while...and it was fun!
We had to taste-test, of course. A real shame.
Fresh salsa with dinner is kind of a game-changer! (And we decided it tasted even better after a day.)
After that, we tried a different kind of salsa: the dancing kind! Neither of us know how to salsa, but I figured we can learn anything with a YouTube tutorial, right?
What I actually learned is that I cannot even CLOSE to salsa. I'm truly a terrible dancer. I have two left EVERYTHING. Not just feet.
So we gave up after about a half hour and just did the goofy dance.
So with this date we learned the only salsa for us is the edible kind!
It was a lot of fun, though! And now I shall commence with planning the next at-home date. We are having so much fun with these!

What a fun date!! You two make the cutest dancing couple! :)
So much fun!!! And now I'm craving salsa.
Thanks, ladies! :) It was a fun day!
What a super-fun date!!!I need to get Dave a bunch of salsas to taste test -- he would love it!
And I can't do any of those Latin dances that require moving my hips -- I just don't move that way :)
