The Shafferland Shuffle

Happy Sunday! We are still enjoying the leftover aroma of a fire pit last night - which wrapped up a pretty fun week here in our lives! Wanna take a peek?

* Last Sunday was National Coffee Day, so on our way to church, we stopped for a little pick-me-up. (It was my day to hand out women's ministry newsletters, so I was happy for a little extra pep in my step!) Ryan and Braeya watched the Colts game ever so attentively that afternoon - and it seems Ryan moved closer to the TV as the game got more intense - ha! (I slept and scrapbooked.)
* Monday was a busy day for me - working in the office, catching up on Bible studies, and such things. After work, Ryan needed to return the borrowed pickup truck we used to help us haul stone for our landscaping project, but it was a filthy mess from all the dust on the stone, so he washed it off before he took it back. And I was so excited that our neighbor came over with my beloved garden flag! It had blown off our flag pole several days ago, and I figured I'd never see it again. Apparently it got caught in her landscaping and she found it!
* We bought our mums from a fundraiser for Ryan's niece's sports team, and the flowers came in on Tuesday. They were HUGE! Our little fall corner is complete. Also complete? Ryan's day after he found my novel and started reading. (It didn't last long.) We hosted small group that night, and one of our people brought the most adorable little cheeseballs! SO CUTE!!

* Wednesday was our 82nd monthiversary, and we celebrated with cake at lunch! (Got it from our favorite cake shop.) We really didn't see a ton of each other that day (sadness) because that night was women's Bible study for me. I was part of the snack team that night, and I took sloppy joes! Ryan stayed home and washed windows. For real.

* I tried a new braid technique on Thursday - it kept the hair out of my face and garnered many compliments, so I called it a win! I helped out with some more jewelry brainstorming for Ryan's cousin, and that was fun, and that night, we went grocery shopping and started our Christmas shopping too! (This photo was what I sent Mom when she asked what I got her for Christmas. I told her Ryan.)

* Friday marked 7 years since our engagement, and we had the most fun night that I can't wait to tell you all about this week. It included a date to a corn maze, dinner out, a walk in the park - and ended in an utter food coma for me. So much fun, though!! We hadn't been able to do a "something different" kind of date for a while, so this was a fun one.

* Ryan worked yesterday, and I went on a mini-road trip with my friend Amber! We went on an artists' tour in Brown County, where we saw many fun things and only got lost once! When Ryan was done with work, he and my dad cut down a tree for our neighbor (at her request...it wasn't just something they did to surprise her) and then we ended the night by roasting hot dogs and marshmallows at the fire pit!

A. Very. Good. Week. We are grateful.

That line about it being your neighbor's request for them to cut the tree down cracked me up- that they didn't just do it on their own :) Glad you had a great week.

Maria - LOL!! I didn't want to leave the impression that we just got tired of her tree and did away with it. :)

Shari - GREAT MINDS!!!

Tamar - It was!
