Niagara Falls in the winter? Beautiful. (Though I'm not sure I could be lured that close to a waterfall in THAT much ice...)

Some of my thoughts were featured on Annesley this week. Hope over here if you'd like to read them!

Happened upon this little Etsy shop this week, and thought it had some unique offerings! Morse code jewelry...have you seen those before? I always like jewelry with a bit of a twist.

KariAnne did a post about quick things to keep on hand for when you need a food offering for unexpected guests. Her ideas are great, but there are almost 80 comments full of ADDITIONAL great ideas. So if you need some fresh quick food ideas, check out the post AND the comments!

I'm not sure if I have talked about these before on this blog or not, but regardless, I would say this weekend proves why they need to be discussed. If you live in areas prone to ice and you are as prone to klutziness as I am, these ice cleats are a must. (There are many similar versions, so if you don't like these, you can try others.) They strap onto whatever shoe you're wearing and help give you extra traction on the ice!

What, you say? No book again? Well, yes and no. I have been reading a book this week, but unfortunately I'm not going to be able to finish it until today, and that didn't bode well for reviewing it BEFORE today. Womp womp.
But for those of you who love books, specifically Karen Kingsbury's books, have you seen this article about her son Tyler? He was one of the writers who turned Maggie's Christmas Miracle into a screenplay for Hallmark. (It aired this past December.) I found it interesting to read about the process of transforming the book, and extra interesting since it was his own mother's book! :)

The morse code jewelry is amazing!!
Two thumbs up to the suggestion for cleats! I have been using them for several years and they really do help out here in the country when adventuring out to get the paper or mail, or letting the dog potty! I would also suggest a walking stick that I added to the mix this year...of course I am a lot older than you are. I also purchased an orange sock cap and orange hooded sweatshirt so I would show up when out getting the paper or the mail on gray days! Now if they hit me, they'll say,"How did I miss 'THAT'!" :-) Stay warm and safe! Cathy Johnson
Tamar - I thought you might like that!
Mrs. Johnson! What a treat to hear from you! Smart of you to wear orange...no need to run the risk of not being seen! We don't live in the country, but I think some of the folks in our neighborhood think we have the same speed limit. They FLY down our road. I don't like getting the mail when any car is in sight because they wouldn't see me either and...that could hurt!!!
