So, you know, it's 10 days into the new year. Wanna see what I did with the fireplace 10 or so days ago? :)
I really wanted to spend next to nothing on this one...so here's what I did and how I accomplished that!
Went with a gold/silver/white/neutral theme to try to encompass snow and winter and new year festivities...so much to pack into one tiny mantel!
From the left....the glittery silver bell caught my eye on the Hobby Lobby 80% off sale, thankyouverymuch. It's big and has presence and makes me happy. The little disco ball is part of a six ornament set that I got also in my Hobby Lobby after-Christmas perusal. I just placed it so you can't see the hanger. {Technically I could have cut that part off but I didn't.}
I had the tall glass vase in the background already and saved out all the tiny silver ball ornaments from my Christmas decor before I put all that away. That whole side is very sparkly and makes me awfully happy!
These glittery guys were a dollar each {I have three sets} at the dollar store. They're just spriggy things {official term - feel free to use it!} that I stuck down in the vase with the little ornaments. I love it that they're tall.
So I dug this frame out to use in my decor because it was gold and festive looking and fit the theme. I fully intended to print a picture of Ryan and me in the snow...but then I got to staring at this darling little face and couldn't bear to cover her up. This is our Braeya Jo Jo on her very first night with me - when she was just six weeks old. So this is my very non-wintry tribute to our girlie.
A snowman I already owned {tall and with good presence - yet simple} nestled inside a gold and silver wreath I already had. I used it kind of like a candle holder wreath. KariAnne Wood says you should look for new uses for things you already have. This was my attempt.
And now over to the right hand side...the lantern we received for a wedding gift, coupled with a vase I already had, the "snow" epsom salts I used in December with Christmas decorations, and the rest of the disco ball ornaments.
So if you're keeping track, the only things I purchased this year were the tall glittery spriggy things, the bell, and the ornaments - and all were either dollar store finds or significantly clearanced items.
And before I sign off for the day....my January printable and another snowman!

Good morning!! I love your mantel! My favorite part is the snowman! I keep ALL of my snowman out until March 1st! They help me thru the gloomy days of winter!
Enjoy our upcoming heatwave! 40???? Yea!
MJ
I am LOVING this heat wave! Ryan's shower finally thawed, so as soon as the washer pipes thaw, we are BACK in business, baby!! :)
I loved the creamy whites and browns that were very popular for decorating this year. My entry way mirror is decorated that way. I think I'm going to leave it decorated for winter, even after the Christmas decorations come down. Which they might this weekend. Maybe...
I love all the glitter. It is perfect for the glittery snow of January!
