I got pretty nervous there at the end of Idol tonight. What a mean trick to pull on us! I do think it was very nice of them to NOT send anybody home on charity night...and I think it will be interesting to wonder how this week's performances impact next week's double elimination.
The Gives Back show was a good one, I thought. Learned I'm not a fan of Earth, Wind and Fire - or whatever that group was called. Or maybe that was just a song I didn't like and since it's all I've ever heard them sing, I just THINK I don't like them.
The Elvis thing was a little creepy. I had two people watching the show at my house and the three of us spent the entire song trying to figure out if it was some weird video trick of Elvis actually singing or if it was an impersonator. Parts of it looked very video-y (new word) and parts of it looked very live.
I loved Josh Grobin's song with the African Children's Choir. I could have just stopped with I love Josh Grobin...(ditto for the men of Il Divo)...but the song was good. Those kids are so cute!!! The cheeser in the front row was my favorite.
The lady that sang Bridge Over Troubled Waters (or is it Water?)...no thank you. She dressed like Haley and did not do half the justice to that song that Clay did when he sang it in the Season 2 finale. I don't like people messing with a song once Clay has sung it.
It's way late...and I need a nap...so I'm going to bed!

I was mad too, first stupid seacrest says it's the most shocking vote ever, and I am thinking it has to be Melinda or Jordin, and then I am mad all night. Then Melinda is safe and I knew it was Jordin, then he pulls that trick on is! UGH!!!
As for the music, my favorite part(for obvious reasons) was Carrie Underwood's video singing i'll stand by you. Josh Groban I liked as well, and how cute were those kids! Earth Wind and Fire are awesome, just didn't dig the song. Kelly Clarkson, good to see her back.
The best part though was the simpsons clip that was hilarious! I loved when Bart said "the best the lions have been fed since dunkleman!" HAHA. I loved too how they all bagged on Sanjaya, and he was in the house NICE! Ellen is so funny, love her.
it was a good show for sure.
Earth Wind and Fire did not impress me at all! The whole time they were singing all of us were looking at each other with confused looks on our faces. Their guitar players hair was icing on the cake (very long hair in the back with receding hairline in the front). Overall, it was nice to see all of "the glitz" could be used for something meaningful tonight. B
Elvis & Celine was amazing! It was the "real" Elvis, and thanks to digital technology, they were able to make it appear as though they were on the stage together.
It's not all that different from when Natalie Cole did a video with her deceased father, just a little groundbreaking to have it done live.
I will have to go back and watch it again, just to get the full effect. I was a bit awestruck with the whole concept last night.
I have always loved Josh Groban, and those little kids were just adorable.
Are you enjoying Notes From The Underbelly?? I was cracking up last night!
I've been gone for two days and have been in severe withdrawals from blogger! (Probably a sign that I need therapy...) So here I am, home less than 10 minutes and online to catch up with you!
Phats - I forgot about the Simpsons clip. That was pretty funny. I saw Sanjaya once again being good-natured about their digs toward him.
Brandon - SO funny that you bring up the hairline. My friend Angela came in while they were on and I said that I wasn't impressed and she said, "Aren't they really old?" I said, "Well, their hairlines say they're not young!"
Kristin - Thanks for clearing up the Elvis thing for me. I guess as tech-y as I get is that one Gaither clip where one of the Speer ladies (was it Mary Tom or Faye?) sang with Brock's clip. HEY! Here we go - a whole new opportunity for Bill. He can bring back all the dead people to make new videos!!
Nutz- TONIGHT! TOnight is the night I watch the last TWO WEEKS' worth of Notes. I've missed it!
