In honor of (narrowly) surviving The Newlywed Game at
the marriage retreat, I thought I would share the questions they asked us to
see how you would do in answering these questions. It turned out I knew
Ryan better than I knew myself. You’ll have to tell me how you did!
Ryan’s
first question was…If you could take any of Bekah’s talents and turn it
into an Olympic event, what would it be?
What
would you have said?
He
didn’t hesitate with his answer, and when I came out later, I didn’t hesitate either.
Unfortunately we didn’t hesitate to give different answers! He said writing. I
said scrapbooking.
In my
defense, I never think of writing as a talent. I forget that it doesn’t come
naturally to everyone. I said scrapbooking because it feels more like the hobby
I take way too seriously. #fail
Ryan’s
second question was…If you could take over one household chore forever,
what would Bekah want you to take over?
What
would you have said?
He said
dishes. I said driving. Apparently driving is not considered a household
chore??
In my defense, Ryan already does the dishes. (And several other chores too, actually.) I was trying to think of something he didn’t already do that I would be happy to give up. The first thing that came to mind? Driving. #fail
Ryan’s
final question was…What animal best describes how long it takes your wife
to get ready to go on a date?
What
would you have said?
He
said cheetah. I said turtle.
In my
defense, I don’t usually “get ready for a date.” I get ready in the morning, and then like 8 hours later, we go on a date.
Whatever version of pretty is left at that time is what goes on that date. I
don’t start over. I don’t redo my hair and makeup. I just go. And clearly, I
think I take a lot longer than he thinks I take. #fail
My
first question was…Was the last time Ryan flossed days, weeks, months, or
years ago?
What
would you have said?
I said
minutes. It wasn’t an option, but it is true. He flosses MULTIPLE times a day. And
that is exactly what he said too. #win
My
second question was…Which of these characters best describes your husband
in high school? The Fonz, Ferris Bueller, Troy Bolton, or Screech? I had to ask
who Troy Bolton even was, because I had no idea. (Never seen High School
Musical.) I told them I was Screech, so I knew that wasn’t it. He wasn’t a
troublemaker, so Ferris was out. I had to choose between The Fonz and Troy. He
wasn’t really either one, fully, but I felt like he leaned more toward the Fonz
than Troy, so I made a choice and hoped he felt the same.
What
would you have said?
Whew. He agreed! #win
Ugh.
What
would you have said?
Here’s
my problem: I know hymns and David Phelps songs. That’s it. And NEITHER
category would describe Ryan’s theme song.
So the audience
helped me and we came up with I’m Too Sexy. I knew he wouldn’t say it, but it’s
what I would pick for him.
He didn’t
pick it. But we had fun with it. #fail
The
bonus question asked of me was…How old was Ryan (give or take two years)
when he had his first kiss?
What
would you have said?
I
said fourteen. He said thirteen. Close enough! #win
Close
enough for second place! 😊
So…would
you have won your game??

I was actually trying to answer the questions as you both. LOL. I was trying to see how much I knew you.
So fun!! Judah is like Ryan - he LOVES flossing and does it all the time lol
Katie - So how did you do? LOL! (One of my friends said she would have guessed organization for my Olympic sport. Not a bad guess!)
Tamar - That is so funny!! Guess they really do need to add a "minutes" category.
