Good morning, friends! We are enjoying an unusual happening around here…a Sunday morning at home! It’s a little slick here this weekend, so our services were canceled. I'm sad that I don't get to see my church friends today, but I haven't had an abundance of sleep or rest over the last week, so I welcome a few extra moments of both this morning. If you’re also in an icy path, stay safe today!
Here is
a glimpse into the week we just had…
Last Sunday was a treat for my heart. Not only was
it our monthiversary, but it was a church day, and Ryan jumped in to serve
right alongside me. He helped me at a meeting, he stayed after church to talk
with someone who needed a listening ear – and we served together. We may not be
coworkers anymore, but I love how he jumps in to be part of the work I do, and
I do my best to return the favor with his role!
Walks have been scarce this winter, between the early darkness and the cold/ice/snow. We finally had a springlike day this week, and we were able to take Lexi for a long walk. She was beside herself with joy, prancing down the road, and it was sweet. I have really, really missed being able to get out and walk (more than I knew) so this was a fun memory from this week.
Picaboo (the company for my scrapbooks) ran a free
pages sale a few weeks ago, so I ordered all the books I had finished, and they
arrived this week. I had the best time looking through them and even
took Lexi’s book to Swiss Village for Mom and Dad to see. Scrapbook delivery
day never gets old, and watching our printed collection of memories grow is one
of my very favorite things.
My job gives me the opportunity to attend a variety
of activities, and this week I spent a morning sharing breakfast with some of
the seniors from our church. I had the best time getting to know them better – hearing
about their careers, hobbies, families, and stories from days gone by.
Our friends (Frog and Jenna) came to stay with us
this week on their way to and from a marriage conference, and they came bearing
gifts – including Jenna’s beautiful hot cocoa bombs. (If I attempted this…well…they
would not look this polished.) We had fun catching up over dinner, and Lexi couldn’t
contain her joy.
Ryan and I actually went to the marriage conference this
year, too! It was our first time to attend this one, and we had the best time.
I will tell you more about it this week, but suffice it to say that our unexpected
participation in The Newlywed Game was absolutely the most memorable
part of the weekend.
