Sunday Sentiments: Thankful

 

He is risen!

            Happy Easter…happy Resurrection Day, friends!

            Today is many things for most of us reading in this space. It’s a day to celebrate together at church. It’s a day to witness baptisms and sing. It’s a day to wear new dresses, gather with family, and eat big meals.

            But most of all, today is a day to celebrate the tremendous miracle of Christ’s resurrection.

            A couple of nights ago, I was wrestling in prayer and somewhere around 2:30 in the morning, I was out of words. I picked up my Bible, cradled it in my arms, and begged God to fill in the blanks where I couldn’t speak any longer.

            It reminded me that the opportunity to pour out my heart to the Lord in the middle of the night and then fall asleep with His Word in my arms is only possible because of that Resurrection Day.

            Words feel inadequate on this day.

            My heart is full of praise and thanks.
