Saturday Suggestions: Ideas for Your Weekend

Happy Saturday, my friends! I hope you are finding much meaning in your Easter weekend. We’ve enjoyed ours so far and are looking forward to the rest! I found some links for your day…hope you find a keeper among them!

ONE.

I loved coloring Easter eggs when I was a kiddo. We did the old-fashioned dye kits, dropping tablets into liquid and watching them dissolve. It was so much fun. If I had kiddos for egg coloring, I’d use natural egg color, and this post not only tells you which materials to use to achieve different colors, but it also tells you how to add specific designs, using leaves and more. If you need a last-minute activity for Easter weekend or just want to have a less chemical-laden adventure, check it out! BONUS: I know Easter is TOMORROW, but hereis a great idea for kids’ Easter baskets – plus a GROUP Easter basket. Brilliant.

TWO.

If you’ve been reading here long, you know I love houses made from churches and schools. Church houses can be kind of tough in finding the best layout because they are sometimes so big that it just looks odd as a house. This one, though. WHOA. It’s gorgeous. It showed up in my Facebook feed this week, and I had to go see all the pictures. The main area feels proportionately perfect, and that library up the stairs???? Sigh. And the soaking tub? Sigh. All of it? Sigh. It’s in Vermont. Also, sigh. 😉

THREE.

If you are planning any travels this spring or summer, check out KariAnne’sideas for packing light/packing strategically. We’ve gotten better at this over the years…at least the strategically part. I don’t think anyone has ever accused me of packing light. But to be fair, we do a lot of our own meal prep when we go on trips, so much of what I take has to do with food! But back to KariAnne – her stuff is cute and her ideas are great! BONUS:  Ilove her luggage. We are using – and will use until the literal wheels fall off – the set I bought back in 2010 when I did my first solo flying. Those suitcases have gone with us many places and are still in working order. They probably don’t make them like they used to, so we’re gonna keep on with them until they tucker out completely. When they do? Cue the cute stuff!

FOUR.

I love our little bedroom. Every single night when I crawl into bed, I just stare at the tiny coziness of the room and appreciate how much I love it. One of my favorite things about it is how light and bright it feels. Thispost I stumbled upon this week also shares a bedroom makeover that brightens up the room. So sweet. I love it. If you need some inspiration for your own room, maybe this one will be just the ticket!

FIVE.

You know I love a good free printable for decorating in our home. Hereis a link to some free art options if you need to refresh a frame in your home. I printed one for ours, but there are a bunch of really cute ones in here! I love printables, because you can keep the same frame (no money spent once you get it initially) and just refresh the look month by month or season by season! (I printed the dandelion watercolor for our house.)

SIX.

Thispost about putting together a Bible study journal does include products for purchase, but what I loved about it was the idea of using books-of-the-Bible tabs in a binder to keep track of your notes. Silly me – I never thought about using them in anything other than an actual Bible! (Sometimes I am really wonderful about thinking outside the box. Other times? Not so much. This is one of those other times.) Brilliant!

Have a beautiful Easter weekend, my friends. Much love to you. I leave you with this week’s capsule collections.
