Girls' Night at the Flower Patch

You might remember that a couple of weeks ago, Ryan and I went on a date at the flower patch near here. It was the most fun night, and this past week, I actually had the chance to go back again – for Girls’ Night Out!

Back when we lived in Kokomo, I filled in at our church when the office manager went on maternity leave. I covered basically the first quarter of 2020 – just before we moved to WillowBridge. Abagail and I have stayed close in friendship after our move, but we mostly talk over Marco Polo and hardly ever see each other in real life. In fact, the last time we saw each other in person was in January of 2022, when I spoke at the WillowBridge fundraiser and she came to hear me! She was pregnant with baby #2 then, and he's over a year old now!

I knew she wanted to see our house, so I invited her to join me for Girls’ Night Out at the flower patch and we had the BEST TIME!

This event was bigger than the date night. There were vendors at this one – boutiques, soap-makers, local honey, jewelry-makers, etc. And the food was different at this one, too. But it was still the same amount of great fun!

For dinner, we enjoyed the most adorable charcuterie cup from The Charcuterie Shop, and then ShakaShack Coffee had a truck there for smoothies and iced coffee. GG’s Bakery provided huge cookies (think Crumbl Cookie size) for dessert. SO GOOD. (Couldn’t finish it all and had to bring the rest home!)

Abagail and I had so much fun picking our flowers and making our bouquets. The weather was gorgeous and we were there as the sun began to set. Perfection.

I did a little shopping, too. Came home with a handmade card for Ryan and a couple of earring sets. It was fun to get to support some local people and find fun things for my collection while I was at it.

It was a perfect treat to spend the evening with Abagail. We both talked a mile a minute, catching up in person on everything we talk about on the regular on Marco Polo. She has been such an encouraging friend in my life, and I was thankful to share the evening with her. (Big thanks to her mom and husband for tag-teaming the kids’ care and evening routine so she could come, and to Ryan for doing Lexi’s evening walk and my garden chores so I could go!)
