Would you like a random, useless fact to start your Sunday? Twenty-three years ago TODAY, I graduated from high school. Okay, first of all, impossible, since I'm barely over twenty-three years old myself! Secondly, how do I remember the actual date of my high school graduation? I have no idea. I can't seem to remember half my chores on a daily basis, but this I remember. So happy graduation day to me!!!

* Last Sunday was Mother's Day, and we hosted Mommapalooza 6.0. That official recap is coming your way tomorrow (as I catch up on life on the blog) but it was a good and full day with a lot of guests in our home and a lot of food on our plates! We also had a couple of things that provided remembrance to Ryan's mom on our first Mother's Day without her, and those little (unplanned) moments were very sweet.
* Monday evening we packed up in our car and headed to Ryan's dad's to help work on his house, but we didn't know he wasn't planning to work that night! So after taking a nap in the car, we came back home instead! Ryan took advantage of the extra time to finish writing my birthday blog post. Had to get a picture of that, since it is sort of rare. While he did that, I drank out of my 40 mug for the last time as a 40-year-old. Seemed appropriate.
* Tuesday was my 41st birthday, and I'll tell you more about that this week too, but it was just such a delightful day from start to finish. I got some of my favorite food, had time to scrapbook, watch TV, relax, see my parents, spend time with Ryan, and make a ton of memories. A perfect little day made even more perfect by the presence of the...(wait for it!)...SUN!!!!!!! (You remember what that is, right?)
* Apparently now that I'm 41, I'm lazy, because partway through drying my hair on Wednesday, I got tired and decided to see if I could still French braid instead. (Drying my hair takes FOREVER, and sometimes I just lose interest.) Turns out...I can!! I went to watch Ryan play his last cornhole tournament game at work. (He may have lost that round...maybe.) And that evening, we went to our church to help set up tables and chairs for the big women's night out this past Friday. Several people showed up to help, so we were able to get it done without being there all night!
* Thursday was prep-for-women's-night-out day! (I'm on the committee for the women's ministry and I was the speaker for the event, so I was sort of invested in every part of it! I went to church to help set the tables, fluff the decorations, and do other duties as assigned. When I got home, I had to finish making my dessert donation for the dessert buffet: buckeye brownies!
* And then Friday was event day! I'll have to tell you all about it later, but our church planned a women's night out that turned out to be much bigger than anyone ever anticipated! We had almost 200 women come for dinner and fellowship. They asked me to speak, and I don't think I've been that nervous in a long time. Speaking to your home crowd is a whole different ballgame than speaking to people you don't know. A bunch of Ryan's co-workers came, as did my mom, Ryan's step-mom, and his grandma. It turned out to be an amazing night, and I think the ladies had fun! I hope so!!
* Yesterday was our work day at home for the things we didn't get done last week. (Hello, rain.) We did all our grocery shopping, bought all our flowers, and then planted them all. (You know...before the next round of rain comes today.) We finished right when it got dark, and right after my first eight mosquito bites of 2019!

Such an exciting week!!! Your braid is awesome!
I love the “wagon” planter. Great idea. I wish I could have attended the Women’s night out. Have a super Sunday!
Tamar - Thank you! I was impressed with how well it turned out! :)
Gerri - Thank you! It was my wagon when I was little, and when my parents cleaned out the attic a year or two ago, they found it and gave it to me! :) It doesn't really have life as a wagon anymore (rust) but it works great for a planter. I wish you could have been there too! We miss you!!
