So THAT'S What a Weekend at Home Looks Like!

As you know, this last quarter of 2018 has been a bit on the...ahem...busy side. Sometimes good busy, sometimes hard busy, but definitely busy.

This past weekend, we had a taste of what we used to call normal, and it was so lovely. I soaked it all up, because with the holidays basically here, who knows how long until we see a weekend like this again!

It started out with a trip to my parents' house on Friday night, where we ran a Christmas photo booth for their church's Christmas party. Yes, I know that means we weren't at home, but it really was a nice, low-key evening. Mom served soups and salads (three cheers for free dinner!) and after that, Ryan and I took pictures at the photo booth. Some of the people weren't overly huge into photos, so in between our picture-taking, we had our own brand of fun with our booth. Ryan cracks me up.

Ryan worked on Saturday, but once he got home, we were (mostly) home for the evening and we had our Pheebs! Family naps, catching up on DVR'd shows...it was lovely. And we got our Pheebs a little toy to keep at our house. I think she loved it. What do you think?
Phoebe actually spent the night, and we took her home Sunday on our way to church:
Oh! I almost forgot. I made cookies Saturday night too. Baking is good for my soul.
We'd been invited to lunch at some of our church friends' house on Sunday, and it was so enjoyable. The food was delicious, and we made new friends while we were there. (And we got to hear gorgeous piano music. The second picture here was taken by the lady who invited us, while we were listening to her son play the piano.

We also helped Ryan's step-mom celebrate her 60th birthday that evening. It was a fun party!

(That's Ryan with his grandma there in that last picture.)

It was a fun, memory-filled weekend. Lots of rest, lots of friendships, and a little too much food. But we are grateful!

Low key weekends are often the best and very much appreciated in a season of busyness.

I love low key weekends! That photo book looks like fun, too. :)
