Our town has a beautiful old mansion that's been turned into a museum. (We've still never been there during the normal part of the year. Maybe 2019 will be our year.) But at Christmas, different businesses and groups come in and decorate it from top to bottom. It's stunning. It's stunning to just drive by at night, but it's so pretty inside with all the different decorations.
The first year we lived here, we went with some friends and had a great time together. Last year, we never got there because we were apparently too busy. (?) So I wanted to be sure to get there this year. It's so nice that some businesses sponsor nights when the public can go through free of charge. Last night was Ivy Tech night, and since that's where Ryan graduated from, it felt appropriate to visit then.
It was warmish for December (in the 40s) and raining, but it was delightful inside! (I thought maybe the rain would cause people to stay home. NOPE!!!! It was packed in there!
Here are some of the pretties we saw. Snowmen were the theme of the year, apparently. Or, as I first typed, snowmans. Oh, Bekah. You make me cringe.
A full circle moment here, apparently:
I told Ryan we should do this. Fastest fully decorated tree ever:
How to decorate your sink: fill it with ornaments.
The owl inside the wreath was missing an eye, and I felt sorry for him.
Look at that dollhouse!!!
The Unknown Couple. I fear that 100 years down the road, our wedding picture will hang on a wall with this caption. "There are pictures of these people EVERYWHERE. We have no idea who they are, but they sure liked pictures."
Sign me up for this tree. And climate. Thankyouverymuch.
The whole third floor of the mansion is a ballroom, and it was decorated to the hilt too! Even had an upside down tree!
Santa the tree:
A spectacular village:
We got a couple of awkward, poorly lit selfies. We're sorry about my hair, too. Rain.
And a photo in the rain from across the street:
Before we came home, we stopped for coffee and a little relaxing:
It was a good night, full of Christmas cheer!! :)

Tamar - You would find all the best little places in town that I haven't even uncovered yet.
Odie - It was! And thank you!! :)
Katie- So funny!!! I think it was all in how it parted itself that day and then got weighed down by the rain.
