One.
Found this photo on Facebook and thought it looked like a great project for anyone: single, married, family, you name it! It's a reverse advent calendar, with ideas of pantry items to put into a box each day in December. On Christmas Eve, donate the box to a food pantry!
Two.
I learned about the aforementioned photo via the Facebook page of the Passionate Penny Pincher, which led me to explore her site, which led me to share it with you right here! If you're looking for deals (anytime...but especially in this season) she does all the hard work for you. Just take a peek and find all kinds of gems!

I know Thanksgiving was over two days ago, but this article by Shannon Popkin has some really great advice about being thankful even when circumstances are less than ideal. And given that the presence or absence of a Thanksgiving holiday has little bearing on whether or not we should live in gratitude, I thought you might benefit from her words!
Four.
Earlier this week, one of my friends stopped by on her lunch hour to drop off some snacks she'd made for us. I'd made a big pot of soup for lunch, and cornbread had just come out of the oven, so I asked her if she'd like to stay and eat with us. Much to my delight, she did! We talked for a long time, and both of us had full hearts when she left. I loved it that she felt welcome - even on the fly - and that might be why I loved this hospitality-themed article so very much!
Five.
Does your Christmas wish list include a castle? If so, here's one for sale! (Maybe everyone you know could pool their money...for the rest of time...to buy it for you?)
Six.
I don't normally get all bent out of shape over Black Friday sales, but I have to tell you about this one (because it's still going on until tomorrow night...and I think it's a winner)! How many million times a year do I mention the Dashing Dish site? I cook probably 95% of my recipes from her site, so I'm clearly a big fan. I read yesterday on Instagram that through Sunday evening, they're offering half off your first year of Dashing Dish Membership! (And you can give this as a gift, too, so if you're already a member, but you want to help someone else get started, you can!) You can go to this page, and you don't even need a code. The discount is applied at checkout. Reminder: you do have to be a first time member to qualify. I think her monthly membership fee is reasonable and well-worth the cost, so check it out!

Oh I so want a castle!!
Such a great Blog today, Bekah! I read it every day but this one has so many good articles in it. I just copied the Reverse Advent Calendar and will be placing on my refrigerator as a daily reminder of what to put in the box! It would be great for our Small Group to take this on and have each one make up a box!I plan on sharing this idea with them. Keep up the good work with your Blogs!
We had already decided to do the reverse Advent calendar and then one of my friends posted this picture on Facebook. So last night we went shopping and the kids picked out all the stuff. Two carts, two excited kids -- it was craziness!!! We're really happy to be experiencing this this year. I think it will make our Advent season more meaningful.
Tamar - Wouldn't it be fun??
Marsha - Well thank you! I always appreciate your words! I'm so glad you found something you can implement into your Christmas season!
Natasha - YAY! How fun!! I can't wait to see what they think!
I never said thank you! For sharing my thanksgiving post! That just didn't seem right, so I'm officially sending some gratitude your way, dear Bekah. :)
