I bring you the second of 18 installments of the
Gaither concert.
I'm KIDDING again! This is really it.
The first half of the concert featured each of the artists individually. My favorite group (aside from the Vocal Band, of COURSE) was the Martins. I've always loved them. And while they're still as amazing as they've always been,
this was the song that got me. When I went to the Homecoming concert with my sister in May of 2010, they sang this song. It was the first time I'd ever heard it, and I cried all the way through it. I was dying inside and it was the smallest glimmer of hope that maybe someday I could live again. This time I cried again - because I sat there and thought about all the things God has done in my life to redeem my broken heart - up to and including that very day of the concert. Oh the perspective of the other side....

The Vocal Band cleaned up quite nicely from the sound check! While David is still my favorite singer ever, I have to say I love
Wes's voice. He's GOOD.

My sister's favorite singer. (Julie, I mean.) Mr. Michael English. I tried to take a good handful of pictures for her. Because I'm a good sister that way.

I don't know if you're familiar with David Phelps... :) He sang one of my favorites...
Nessun Dorma. This is from the very end of the song. Amazing.

The whole gang together. This is one talented bunch of guys.

A picture for all the sisters...Lori and I share the favorite of David...and Julie's favorite, as previously stated...Michael.

Mark
Lowry singing
Mary Did You Know?

Bill and Michael right before Michael sang another of my FAVES -
Please Forgive Me

And David singing
He's Alive.

The second half had all the artists singing together - some great favorites! I had taken about 170 pictures by that point and didn't think I needed more, so I just enjoyed the music.
FANTASTIC night. Didn't get back home until after midnight, but it was absolutely worth it!

Ok, so let me get this straight...you get to cook smores, go to concerts, pelt people with t-shirts, meet cool singers and get paid for it? How did you pull this off?
In all seriousness, I am so happy for you. You sound so joyful and content right now. You could have chosen to become bitter about how things turned out with Isaac, but you chose joy and what a beautiful thing that is to see from a far-off perspective.
And on a completely unrelated note....I made your pumpkin spice bread yesterday (and some pumpkin muffins, since I didn't have two loaf pans) and they were delicious. Thanks for the recipe.
ahhhh friend Christina. I miss you!!!
Yes, you do have the job right. Cooking...concerting...chucking... camera-ing...cool people meeting...and it's a JOB!! It's very very cool.
Thanks for the boost...I love the way God is healing me and while the days of hurt still hit, I know God has a plan!!
I'm glad you liked the pumpkin bread...I may have made more too...maybe.... ;)
