And THAT Was A Very Full Day

Ryan and I had ANOTHER very full day on Saturday. Oh my goodness. So full.We got up at a normal work day time and headed out to buy paint, because we're painting his house in preparation to sell it. Because it was such an early morning and because he loves me so much, we went to Starbucks on our way out of town...and in no time flat, both my coat and I had our fill of coffee.
As you can tell - MUCH amusement on my part.

We got to his house, and though we'd stopped by a few times during the week for prep work, there was still more to be done, starting with scraping wallpaper border off the wall. No desire to do THAT again!! It was kind of evil. I told him to take a picture because it was the last time he'd see me do that. {And yes. I'm aware I'll someday eat those words.}
His mom and Allen came over to help us and we started with painting the bedroom. I don't know if all of you understand my deep joy in being around paint. I was completely in my happy place in this room with that paint tray beside me. The color, I thought, was very pretty. "Warm Fog," it was called. {When Ryan stopped by my parents' house Friday evening to drop off our wedding album, he told them we were painting and my dad's immediate reply was "You didn't let her pick out the colors did you? It'll be purple or pink or something." REALLY, DAD!!?!??!!?!?!?!}
While his mom and I worked on the bedroom, Ryan and Allen worked on the hallway. They painted it a really pretty silvery blue. Woodlawn Silver. Doesn't it sound lovely? It turned out SO nice.
And yes. I just wanted a picture of his muscles. What can I say??

Me with my paint roller. Happy, happy girl.
Ryan and his muscles paint roller!
We painted ALL day long and got the bedroom, hallway {which is a big hallway...there's more to it than that picture showed}, and living room painted. There's still a lot of trim work to be done, but it is a huge start.

And then after we finished painting, the four of us went out to eat - to meet his sister and her boyfriend for dinner! We went to the Taku Japanese restaurant in Kokomo. SO yummy.

I was a bit nervous for an open flame to be so close to my hair product....but I loved the show our chef put on. He was really good.
Building a volcano in an onion!
FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!
It was his sister's birthday, so we sang to her. {Well. I lip synced. It was a gift to her.} And she got free fried ice cream. I managed to not jump over the table and snatch it away from her. :)
Ryan and me. I'm pretty proud of how little paint I'm sporting in my hair in this picture. I usually make it a full body project.
We were SO POOPED at the end of the day, but it was a fun one. Love spending time with this man, even if it's on household projects. :)

Wedding Funnies and Outtakes

You all have been SO kind as to put up with all the many, MANY wedding posts, and we so appreciate that. And as I'm writing this, it occurred to me that I was saving Ryan's vows to post with the professional pics and then I got so busy narrating those that I forgot to post his vows with them. Good GRIEF. Okay so there will be one more wedding post in the future. But trust me. His vows were amazing. You'll want to see them.

Meanwhile...you know that for allllllllllllllll the good pictures we had, and there were so many...there were some funnies and some oopsies. And while I probably SHOULD be too proud to post them, I'm not. {I did elect against a few, in a moment of rare, wise restraint.}

But here's a few.

The night before the wedding, we had a little party, which come to think of it - I don't think I posted about that either! It was our version of a rehearsal dinner, since we didn't have a rehearsal. It was our only chance to hang out with everyone who had traveled so far for this wedding...because once the wedding was over, we were on our honeymoon and everyone was kind enough to give us our privacy.

So these first few are from that party the night before.

Reading a funny email on my phone. I absolutely love this one of Ryan, Adam and Sara because this is so them. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing here, but the rest are good.

 Yep. This is about typical!!!
I may have already posted this one...I don't remember. But good GRIEF this is dumb of me!!! Every time I see it, I see Sandra Bullock waving her hand in front of her face and saying, "WORLD PEACE!!!!"

The pictures that resulted of the three girls in the chairs...we loved. But getting IN the chair was...awkward.

 In this photo, I'm saying to Ryan, "Do I have chocolate in my teeth?" {Because we had just cut the cake.} This stupid smile is now a HUGE joke between Lynne and me. I give it to her every time I put Mid-Morning on the air.

 No idea what the HORROR was that I was viewing here, but that's quite a face!

 When we got Stephen Rudd's professional pictures, there were some crack-me-up ones of me in there. Y'all don't understand HOW BRIGHT it was as that sun was going down, and we were looking right into it. This resulted in some interesting squinting for me. I've enjoyed imagining what others might think I'm thinking as they see these pics.

For example:

"Ewww...what is THAT on his FACE?"

 It's still there! I wonder if I should remove it.
REALLY!?!!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?
So those were our funnies. I'll resist the urge to post the rest. :) Because I'm a grown-up with good taste.

HA.

The Shafferland Shuffle

* Last Sunday, Ryan and I came home from church and took a four hour nap! I think there's a possibility we may have been a wee bit tired. Woopsie! After I was awake again and coherent, I hunkered down on the couch and threw myself full force into working on our reception details. Much to do...and I feel better having started some lists. And...putting the final touches on the invitation.

* Monday morning made me wonder if the whole day was going to be a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day. It included spilled coffee, driving {accidentally} through the yard, frozen doors, and then said doors coming open on the interstate. But the day improved...and I loved this pic of my girl and my man. {For the record, she HATES being held and yet somehow let him hold her for several minutes....}
* Tuesday evening I braced myself for a visit to the BMV for a new driver's license with my brand spankin' new name and came away MOST pleasantly surprised that it was a super short visit without one single complication. G.A.S.P. Not a bad picture either, I must say. And that evening, I baked a batch of these bad boys for Ross's {at work} birthday!
* Wednesday night...FINALLY...our wedding pictures arrived!!! We'd been told they'd come after the first of the year...and I mean, I guess technically it is...but to me "after the first of the year" is January 2. :) So I've been running home every night to check the porch for pictures and FINALLY they were there!! Ryan and I tore into them the moment we were home together....sigh of love.
* Thursday night I got a letter in the mail letting me know I'm a potential juror for a coming quarter. That drove me to dinner at Culver's just to cope. Then Ryan and I came home and worked out together for the first time. I think he found it MOST amusing to watch me. Actually he told me he was really proud of me for working so hard. If the utter humiliation of my level two 30 day shred inabilities doesn't foster a desire for improvement....not sure what will.
 * Friday at work, Lynne and I were so excited...because our Etsy order arrived! We got boot socks from Grace and Lace Etsy shop....and they are so stinkin' cute!
That night, Ryan and I went out to dinner at Cracker Barrel. Yes. Two newlyweds on a Friday night with the rocking chairs. We cracked ourselves up!! :)

* And Saturday...ohhhhh Saturday. The day in which we had run about 6 errands before 10 a.m. But we had a busy day ahead...we painted at Ryan's house, which we're preparing to sell. We worked for about 6 hours and got SO much done.
Then we went out to eat at a Japanese restaurant in Kokomo. Cooking with open flame + excess hair product = eeeeek!

We HAVE Wedding Pics! {Part B}

I planned to put all our professional pics in yesterday's post but there were just SO many...so I saved the "photo session" until today. When the wedding ended, Stephen {our photographer} raced against the sunset to get some great photos for us to have for always, and we so love how they turned out! So...without further ado...our photo shoot!

I wanted to have my pretty fur cape and Ryan's hat in some of our pictures...so we started out with those.
 Those posts are farther apart than you might think. :)
 Leaning out to reach the post...leaning in to kiss...I do not have this much coordination. :)
 I love this shot. Fun angle!
 Looking wistfully at each other. :)
 And gazing wistfully in the distance...we were quite in tune with our wistfulness this day.
 I love this one. LOVE IT.
 Not gonna lie...I was impressed with the amount of pictures he was able to squeeze in prior to the sunset!
 I love it when the sky is fiery orange.
 Some people say it almost looks too perfect...but it's not a backdrop! We promise!
 A moment of rest in a quite hurried shoot....and for the record...I was smiling. WHY!?!?
 I generally hate my profile in any picture but I do love this picture so much.
 Sorry. More kissing pics!
 And this is one of my fave, fave, faves. Reminds me how much I adored the veil, too!
 A stroll on the beach barefoot - those shells were sharp!!
 Hand in hand...for our lives!
 We wanted a picture of our rings, and he said he didn't like traditional ring shots...so here was the first one....
 And then this one!
 Love this one so much.
 This was one incredibly awkward pose to hold but I love the way it turned out.
 He was literally holding me up.
 Oh I love this man!!!
 The groom by himself....
 This one goes in a frame. Period.
 And one of the few of me by myself!
There you go! Hope you enjoyed the photos!!! :) Thanks so much for being part of our wedding journey!
