We got to his house, and though we'd stopped by a few times during the week for prep work, there was still more to be done, starting with scraping wallpaper border off the wall. No desire to do THAT again!! It was kind of evil. I told him to take a picture because it was the last time he'd see me do that. {And yes. I'm aware I'll someday eat those words.}
His mom and Allen came over to help us and we started with painting the bedroom. I don't know if all of you understand my deep joy in being around paint. I was completely in my happy place in this room with that paint tray beside me. The color, I thought, was very pretty. "Warm Fog," it was called. {When Ryan stopped by my parents' house Friday evening to drop off our wedding album, he told them we were painting and my dad's immediate reply was "You didn't let her pick out the colors did you? It'll be purple or pink or something." REALLY, DAD!!?!??!!?!?!?!}
While his mom and I worked on the bedroom, Ryan and Allen worked on the hallway. They painted it a really pretty silvery blue. Woodlawn Silver. Doesn't it sound lovely? It turned out SO nice.
And yes. I just wanted a picture of his muscles. What can I say??
Me with my paint roller. Happy, happy girl.
Ryan and his
We painted ALL day long and got the bedroom, hallway {which is a big hallway...there's more to it than that picture showed}, and living room painted. There's still a lot of trim work to be done, but it is a huge start.
And then after we finished painting, the four of us went out to eat - to meet his sister and her boyfriend for dinner! We went to the Taku Japanese restaurant in Kokomo. SO yummy.
I was a bit nervous for an open flame to be so close to my hair product....but I loved the show our chef put on. He was really good.
Building a volcano in an onion!
FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!
It was his sister's birthday, so we sang to her. {Well. I lip synced. It was a gift to her.} And she got free fried ice cream. I managed to not jump over the table and snatch it away from her. :)
Ryan and me. I'm pretty proud of how little paint I'm sporting in my hair in this picture. I usually make it a full body project.
We were SO POOPED at the end of the day, but it was a fun one. Love spending time with this man, even if it's on household projects. :)

Ahhh...painting...and scraping wallpaper. I'll take painting ANY day over the wallpaper thing.
I'm contemplating painting my living room. But it's a big room. And I don't know if I've got that much initiative. Then again, it's as clutter-free as it's been in a while, so maybe now is the time? It's been 8 years...Decisions, decisions!
I am so with you on paint vs wallpaper. YES You have enough initiative to paint! YES YES!!!!!! A thousand times yes!!
