Training Days

Ryan and I still have SO much to learn about the work of Love INC and how to help our affiliate grown and become healthier. For the last two days, we've been in all-day training to learn from experienced affiliates and to meet other directors and staff members from across the country.

Our brains are very, very full, but we are excited to think about things we might be able to implement and ways we can help our little ministry thrive!

We arrived Monday morning to find the room all set up to welcome us to training!

They had gift bags at everyone's chairs - filled with things like pens and notebooks, but they also put some yummy local treats inside!

This wins for clever name!
And binders. You know I love anything that gives me a binder!

The first day of training had sessions led by two different people. We had met one of the presenters before, because he lives near us and has come to meet with Ryan!

And we had been in virtual training with one of the other presenters!

They provided endless coffee, water, and snacks throughout the day, as well as our lunch. We had a small break in the afternoon and then had dinner together and toured a church where they hold some classes for clients in their affiliate. It was a FULL first day.

(I asked Ryan for a picture of us, and this is what I got. Ha!)

At the end of the day, we left the classroom and went to a field trip to see some of this area's Love INC ministries in action! I didn't take any pictures (since they had actual participants there), but I did get this really pretty sunset. It's the only sun we had while we were there!

Yesterday morning, I told Ryan we needed a slightly better picture than the nose-picking one. One of the people from our class graciously took it for us!

We had training throughout the day again in the classroom setting, and we continued to learn a lot of helpful information!

At the end of the day, we took a quick field trip to see a couple of local ministries again, and then we were done for this particular round!

We took in a massive amount of information, but it's already sparked great conversation about what we can do in the future! I'm thankful we were both able to attend and learn!

Sounds like a really great training. Always good when you come away really feeling like you learned a lot!
