The Start of a Beautiful Anniversary!

I don't think we could have ordered a more beautiful day for our anniversary last week than the one we had. It was beautiful in every single way! I'm still sad I couldn't figure out how to bottle up the weather and bring it home with us! Leaving that was not a good decision.

We went out for breakfast on our anniversary - to Biscuit Love. I had read about Loveless Cafe, but I had also read it could have a crazy long line at all times. And it was a bit farther out of our way. We saw Biscuit Love when we went to Crumbl Cookies the day before, so we knew right where it was. And it did NOT disappoint! We didn't have to wait at all, and the food and coffee were so yummy.

Ryan got biscuits and gravy, and I got a sampler platter - and shared mine with Ryan. Too much food for me!

After breakfast, we drove over to Centennial Park, where they have a replica of the Parthenon! The building is an art museum, and we didn't go inside, but we did enjoy looking at it from the outside! This is also the park where we took our annual wedding-photo-recreation pictures, but I don't have those collages made yet. I'll get there.

Throwback to senior pictures...

The weather was PERFECT for walking around without a coat!!!

We decided to go ahead and do the walking tour of Nashville that we didn't do the day before because we took a side tour instead. But I have to tell you about this tour we did! So Nashville, like a lot of cities, has tour guides. We saw hop-on-hop-off double decker buses running around town, and we even saw people touring by golf cart! But I found this website, where you can access a tour that you can read out loud to yourself as you go - all for free! They have many cities on this list, and Nashville happened to be one of them!

So here are some shots from our walk around Nashville!

Ryan on the steps of the Ryman. :)
I loved the story behind this mural. (Nashville has a TON of murals.) They have painted a bunch of country music legends on this mural, but there are some "shadowy" figures in the background that are placeholders for future legends.
It's not a Shaffer tour if we don't pose with bronze statues.
We had actually considered doing this tour the night before in the rain. Right about the time we hit this alley I was sure glad we had not done it in the cold, dark, and rain. I think that would have been past my limits.

Ha ha! Ryan!
The bridge behind me is a pedestrian bridge, and we walked it!
Beautiful day for views of the skyline!

We ended up over at the Country Music Hall of Fame (didn't go inside) and I took pictures of the stars I knew. :)
By the time we were done walking the city, our biscuits had worn off, so we found the Frothy Monkey Coffee Shop for a snack. I had heard great things about it, but it didn't live up to the hype for me. (SO SORRY!!!) In their defense, they were unable to make hot lattes at the time we were there, so I had to get an iced latte. I like iced coffee, but maybe I would have liked it better hot??

We had more adventures, but I'll stop there for today. We really liked our walking tour, though. Honky Tonk Highway was a little loud and rowdy for me, and there were a few areas where I was definitely glad I wasn't alone, but it was still a beautiful city to see!
