Sometimes when you have gone to the lake and then traveled halfway across the country and then there's brain surgery and prep for speaking and writing, you hit a day when you think what in the world am I going to blog about?
Welcome to today.
Fortunately I found a really fun little get-to-know you quiz on Meet the Shaneyfelts' blog, so I'm borrowing it for today. Hopefully by Monday, my little mind will be caught up!
So here's some Friday fun - feel free to use it on your own if you'd like!
1. Are you named after anyone? Nope. My parents were choosing between Rachel and Rebekah for a girl's name, and obviously Rebekah won. Joy, my middle name, came in part from my dad's radio program, which is called Sounds of Joy. {Fun fact: if I had been a boy, I would have been named Ryan.}
2. When was the last time you cried? Here's something I never thought I could say: I don't remember! I'm guessing it was during some medal ceremony or sappy story at the Olympics. Gets me every time. But like an actual meltdown? Don't remember.
3. Do you have kids? Nope. Although when I visited Ryan at work yesterday, one of the patients asked if I was pregnant. Always a boost.
4. Will you ever bungee jump? That is a resounding NO. For both of us. LOL. Actually Ryan would probably love to, but I sure hope he doesn't. He did skydive once before we were married.
5. What is your favorite cereal? We adore Post Great Grains Crunchy Pecan cereal. It's one of the healthier options out there and is not sickeningly sweet. We eat a little cup of it almost every night.
6. What is the first thing you notice about people? Usually their smile or lack thereof. It usually says so much about their personality!
7. What is your eye color? Hazel, but they're kind of chameleon and change to blue or green depending on what I'm wearing.
8. Scary movie or happy ending? HAPPY ENDING! I watch movies to take a break from life, not to continue it! Ryan learned this the hard way the first time he convinced me to watch a movie that did not end well. When I realized it wasn't going to miraculously get fixed, I said "I WILL NEVER GET THOSE TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE BACK!!!" He said, "Well it was based on a true story." I don't care! It's a movie! A chance to fix the ending!!
9. Favorite scents? Coffee, of course. Anything cinnamony/fallish. {Made an applesauce cake last night that has our house smelling just this way.} Stress Away Essential Oil. That stuff is amazing.
10. Summer or winter? SUMMER! I know it's hot and I hate heat, but I love not bundling up to drive places, no ice on the roads, and the beautiful flowers in our yard!!!
11. What is the furthest you've ever been from home? I'm going to guess our stop in Nassau on our cruise wins the prize. I'm really not widely traveled, and I'm also kind of okay with that.
12. Do you have any special talents? Ryan says my writing is a special talent. :) I can sing off key. Is that a special talent? Ryan also says I'm witty, crafty, tell stories well, and am good at writing thank-you cards.
13. Where were you born? Good old Indiana!
14. Do you have any hobbies? Taking pictures, scrapbooking, writing, reading, and cooking. They have long been my favorites. I have other interests that fade in and out, but these are consistent!
15. Do you have any pets? Well, Braeya is our cat, and she's ten and vehemently opposed to sharing her space. We also have visitation rights to Miss Phoebe, our friends' dog. We love her!!
16. Favorite movie? Where the Heart Is has always been a favorite, but I can quote big chunks of many other movies, so as long as it has a happy ending, I probably love it.
Thanks for playing along with my Friday fun day!!! Hope you have a great weekend!

Interesting blog, and now I know you even a little better! Hope you two have a nice weekend!
Ryan even learned some stuff from this one! Ha!! :) You have a great weekend too, my friend!
I've never heard of your favorite movie; will have to check it out. Our hobbies are very similar but I'd swap "baking" for "cooking."
Maria - Where the Heart Is came out several years ago. It has Natalie Portman in it and is based off a book about a pregnant teenager who ends up homeless and living in a Wal-Mart, where she ends up giving birth, too. I think I like it most because she pulls herself up by her boostraps and makes something of herself. It wasn't ever a blockbuster movie, but it just hit me somehow.
I'll take cooking, too! ANYTHING WITH FOOD!!!! Eating! Is eating a hobby?
This was fun!
Love learning more about you (:
