It Truly Takes a Village

It's been a while since I helped put together a wedding, so I forgot how much work goes into the whole thing! We spent Friday helping decorate the church and helping assemble the puppy chow bags. You people have never seen so much puppy chow in one place in your life. I PROMISE.

We started with the church decorating. Ryan and I were in charge of the guest book table. They had their guests sign Jenga pieces.
Jeff and the bridesmaids worked on the sanctuary.

And it all looked so pretty when it was done!

One of their reception favors was a bag of puppy chow for everyone who attended. My sister made THIRTY-FOUR BATCHES of puppy chow leading up to the wedding and the day before the wedding, Mom, Dad, Ryan, Lori, Jeff and I transferred it into bags and tied them with a sweet little message. What a party!!

In case you're wondering, it takes six people about two hours to bag roughly 300 bags of puppy chow.

Like I said. Takes a village!!

How much puppy chow was eaten during the bagging?

That is a TON of puppy chow. Wow! I'm impressed your sister made it all. And I love the idea of getting guests to sign Jenga pieces. What fun!

Uh oh, I'm beginning to think that perhaps puppy chow is not from Purina??? Sounds as though it might be people food so I guess this wedding was educational to provide a wider definition of puppy chow. Lois

Tamar - We use them for our guest book at our new house! It's fun!

Maria - YES! Did you know there are a million kinds you can make? This was original though.

Odie - I would like to go on record as saying I did not eat even ONE PIECE until bagging was done, when I only HAD one piece. There was a rumor, though, that my mom was "dropping" pieces so she could eat them.

Natasha - Lori is a rock star. And a rock star mother of the bride.

Lois - Muddy buddies - do you call it that? I see on Pinterest that's an alternate name. DEFINITELY not the Purina stuff!!
