1. I did not work Monday, so I used the day to catch up on chores. One chore (and boy was it ever!) was to accomplish the taking of the Christmas picture. I'd asked a friend to take it, but her schedule and my hair were not coinciding, so I resorted to taking it myself. I'm used to this. But I didn't want my Christmas picture to scream "SHE TOOK IT HERSELF!!" I played around with about 30 pictures and deleted all but one. The picture was good - except for the zit that appeared from who knows where. Zits at 30? RIDICULOUS.
Later in the day it began to snow, so I decided to try for an outside picture. I went out in my cute sweater (which matches the color scheme of the cards) and my little scarf and coffee mug...strategically placed the camera on the air conditioner, RAN into the snow, posed, RAN back to check it...repeated four times. It was cute, but the wind was bitter and I thought I looked a little scared. Not to mention...I'm sure the neighbors wondered about the crazy woman in no coat, standing out in the snow with a coffee mug, occasionally running to the air conditioner.
2. I've tried to keep my Biggest Loser talk to myself, but I must say that I am not happy with Vicky, and if you've been watching, you should understand that statement. I think it is sad that she has to take a show that should inspire people and turn it into a hateful mess. As someone today told me: You can lose weight, but you'll always be ugly. (Just to clarify...a., she wasn't talking about me, and 2., that's ugly on the inside.)
3. Mom saw this bumper sticker today and called to tell me about it. "Ignorant people shouldn't reproduce." LOVE IT. I'll order three.

The Band-Aid tool in Photoshop cures zits.
And zits at 50, same as at 15. The hormones go haywire on both ends of the reproductive time cycle. Hate it!
Zits seem to NEVER go away Bekah...and I'm in my 5th decade! Worse still is that the skin is drier and ANY type of moisturizer seems to spawn new zits! Sigh...
The photo looks really good. However, I'm curious about the ones from being in the snow. Can I get one of those? Huh? HuH?
Awww come on! Share just one of them on your blog! PLEASSSEEEE!!???????
I tried to drive to church on Sunday and ended up doing a 180 on Miller Ave. I was able to finally stop and saw that I was facing the wrong direction. Thankfully, no other cars were around. I decided that I should crawl home and stay there. And that was my first winter experience for the season.
SkyePuppy - Well apparently I need photoshop!! :) Mom told me I can still expect zits in my seventies too. SUPER!!!!!!!!
Tsofah - Oh no - that isn't good! Moisturizer is supposed to be a girl's friend. :( The snow picture will make an appearance in all its rather constipated looking glory, I promise. Since it is the official card photo of 2008, I was waiting until the cards were mailed (next week) before posting it.
Tina - oh my goodness! Well I am glad you are okay! I remember taking Miller one time - I think in college - and it was NOT GOOD. After that I stuck to the bypass if it was remotely snowy. This past sunday I had to use the highway and STILL couldn't go over 30. When I got to the place where I was forced to use back roads, I think I went about 10. Such a granny.
Bekah,
Zits, or blemishes as we say in Greentown, are probably the most ignorable imperfection a girl can have... Unless you're the girl with the zit... We always judge ourselves more harshly than others do (you probably were aware of that...).
But it would take more than a zit to make you anything less than a lovely little girl.
Chris - Yes, imperfection sounds so much better. I should use that. And thank you...you are very kind. :)
Got your card the other day...loved the picture!!! You are as beautiful as the falling snow!! BTW...as we were sliding to church last Sunday...I thought of you!! Way to go you brave woman!! :0)
