D-O-N-E With Daylight Savings

Last year (our first year to participate in daylight savings) I fought the concept of time change. As if I had a voice - HA! I had lived all my life in the same time and never had a problem. I didn't want to see it change. My friend Mike (work buddy) tried valiantly to persuade me that it was a good thing - a great thing, in fact. HA.

This year I tried to approach it with a more positive, embracing attitude. And as much as it pains me to say this, I've somewhat appreciated the additional evening hours. It's helped outside exercise go much more smoothly.

Having said that - apparently my brain and body are DONE saving. About two weeks ago, against everything I've tried to trick myself with, my sleep pattern has gone back to the normal time zone. I barely make it to work on time and I can't go to sleep at night, no matter how early I get in bed, no matter how soon I cut off the caffeine, no matter...anything.

The new girls at work (who have only known me during the savings time) are starting to see Ugly Morning Bekah for the first time. I try to reiterate the importance of approaching me with caution before my coffee is completely consumed...but I don't think they are taking me seriously.

When again does it change back? How much longer do I have to put up with this? They need a daylight savings ticker for blogs like they have pregnancy monitoring tickers. I need a countdown.

I think we change in October. Turn it back in the fall and turn it ahead in the Spring. Michigan had daylight savings my whole life, so I am use to it. I did enjoy the years in Indiana before it began here. It doesn't matter how much light I have in the morning, I am not a morning person and will never be one. I can fake it when necessary.

I haven't seen a difference but I am odd. I didn't want it either at first but don't really care now.

You need a shirt that says
NOT MY MAN MITCH!

Bekah,

I don't like tampering with the time. Yes, the longer daylight in the summer isn't too bad, but it just means and even harsher switch to darkness in the winter. I've done it both ways and I liked the old way.

By the way, if you want to see some Disney pictures, I finally posted them on my blog.

I was always proud that Indiana didn't use daylight savings ... now I don't know what to be proud of!

Tina - You're right - October. Even longer than last year. No wonder my body is done. We started in earlier this year - I must be rebelling. And I am SO with you. Mornings need to be dark because who needs mornings??

Phats - Well I didn't want to say it....nah, you're not odd. I wish I could not care like you!

Christina - The harsh morning change is really tough. I remember that from this spring. ICK! YAY for posting - going to check it out while I eat dinner. Thankfully your pictures arent' like Chris's "diet picture" which I also got to see while eating dinner.

Brandon - That is an excellent question. You could be proud of....uh....you know....

I'll get back to you on that one.
