Updates on Dreams and Goals from July

And just like that…July is over. What a month it has been! Full of good and challenging and fun and hot and unique…and some goals realized! Today I want to check in about the goals I set to see how they went!

Learn how to contour makeup (better). This was a goal I originally set for June and then utterly failed to achieve. I did work on it this month and feel like I got a bit of a handle on it. I think getting some new makeup sponges might be the key to better results. But it wasn’t the fail that it was in June, so I celebrate that!

Start/finish our dining room project. And this one is the fail for July. 😊 To be fair, I had slotted this one for July because I wasn’t sure our big house project for this year was actually going to happen this month, and then it did. Or at least it got started. It is still underway, and because we are at the mercy of others to finish it, this project has been pushed back. Perhaps in August?

Host some of our family at the lake. Indeed we did! Ryan’s family (some of them) came for the 4th of July, and mine came here at the end of the month. In between, we saw our godson and his mama!

Lots of work projects. So. Many. Work. Projects. I’m a perfectionist, so of course I see what I did NOT accomplish, but to be fair to myself, I did knock out a bunch. I had my hair freshened this week and my friend who does my hair told me that she sees so much in what I’ve done so far. That was encouraging to hear from someone outside my family/the church staff!

Start on my 50 Before 50 List. Done! I mean I haven’t completed it, but I did start it! I shared with you already the things I accomplished in July, and I’m excited to work on a few more in the month to come!

And then there were the unexpected things like…reading nine books in a month…

                …early morning workouts…

                …riding our bikes…

…limping through summer colds for each of us and getting better…

                …cooking lots of new dishes…

…enjoying the journey of the robin’s nest and baby birds…

                …parades and parties…

…lots of hospital visits for our church people…

                …thrifting finds…

                …freshened hair…

                …vet visits…

It was a good month, July was. Lots of lessons learned. Lots of goodness.
