One.
I realize we are heading into fall and this is a post about a spring house tour, but it's the little utensil tray at the bottom of the post that I love so much. I feel it may be time to spruce up our counters. (Just keep reading, Ryan. Nothing to see here. No shopping trips in the future. Hee, hee, hee.)
Two.
I love covered bridges, and one of my goals in our county tours is to see all of them in Indiana. This article shows some that are especially beautiful in the fall, and of course NONE of them are in Indiana. But oh, numbers ten and twelve, you have my attention!
Three.
I don't know how many of you have ever listened to Davey Blackburn's podcast, Nothing is Wasted, but this week, his guests were people I knew, so I made sure to listen. Back in my IWU days, Simon (the husband of this couple) worked in the Admissions Office, and I worked in Financial Aid. So we worked collaboratively, really, more than "together." He and his wife lived relatively close to campus, so sometimes Ryan and I would see them walking around with their kids in the evening. We remember when this event happened, but I had never heard this much of the story. Powerful. (Note: if you have triggers from sexual abuse or trauma, please listen with care - or don't listen if you know you can't handle it.) (Note #2: this is a two part podcast, so the second half will release next week.)
Four.
I happen to really love this burlap wreath. Everything about it is just YES. (If only I had wreath talent, right?)
Five.
I happened upon this website that has some really cute Christmas printables, and then I realized they had MANY cute printables for many occasions. You have to subscribe to get access, but if you need some new home décor ideas, it might be worth it! My inner decorator nerd is feeling pretty happy today!
Six.
I really don't have time for another project right now, but I kind of wish I did...I'm not gonna lie. To make all my books look uniform???

I love people who have their books by color but I can't! I need like with like, but do try to have some variation in size and how I orient them!
I can't do the color organization either because I can't bring myself to break up sets and authors. (Mine are alphabetical.) I remember, though, when I toured the Biltmore, the guide said that in that library (as in many others of that time) people would have their books bound to look like they were sets when they really weren't. If you got up close enough to see the titles, you would see they have nothing to do with each other, but they look like matching sets.
I’ve never made a burlap wreath, but I know you could do it!
Some of those book covers are cute, but those people clearly have too much time on their hands! I’m teasing!
Those covered bridges were beautiful!
Have you ever done a blog post about the podcasts you listen to? I’d like to find some others, but wouldn’t know where to begin! There are too many options out there! I only listen to Spill the Beans (and Dave Ramsey)!
Tracy - I think wreaths scare me because the only one I ever made involved a hot glue gun and a SEVERE burn on my finger. Now, to be fair, I know that not all wreaths involve hot glue and I'm better at wielding the glue gun than I used to be. But I'm still nervous!
I hate to confess that I don't have a repertoire of podcasts to share! How awful is that FROM a podcaster?? EEEK! I've heard really good things about Jamie Ivey's Happy Hour and That Sounds Fun (or is it This Sounds Fun) with Annie Downs. I need to get better about listening to those that really intrigue me and not just toss out names of ones that happen to be popular.
I don't know that it was considered a podcast back then because it was before podcasts were really a thing - but I LOVED Howard Dayton's Money Matters. It played on WBCL before Mid-Morning back in the day, and I learned so much from that. That was when I had a desk job and had time to listen to things - and I would shut my door to focus on that (and work) when it came on. I think that's the reason I don't listen to much now...I never sit! Or drive!
