Party for Two

Yes, it's Wednesday. No, there's not a Walk a Mile in My Shoes post, because I couldn't work it out with the person I was trying to contact! But that's okay. I have more stories for you!

I think there was some kind of big game this past Sunday?? :) We didn't have a party to attend this year, so we decided just to enjoy a viewing party for two (three if you count Braeya, but she mostly slept through it) at home!

My sister wanted to hear all about the food, so this post is partly for her.

We wanted to be able to enjoy some good football party food, but we wanted to try to keep it as healthy as we could, so as I promised in the Saturday Six, I cooked from the Dashing Dish recipe box!

(Ryan was kind enough to take a photo of me cooking...sorry about the mismatched clothing. Jammies!!)
So...here were our menu items! First, I made Skinny Mini Chicken Pizzas, which were quick to assemble and very tasty! (And we had enough for leftovers the next day! WIN!!!)
(Ignore the marinara and ranch. They were for the food on the other plate.)

Ryan loves buffalo chicken anything, so I made these Buffalo Chicken Bites, which I served with the ranch dressing. And then I made Skinny Crispy Mozzarella Sticks, which I served with the homemade marinara sauce.
They may look fried, but they're baked and delicious! We gobbled up most of these!

It was one good dinner, let me tell you! And I enjoyed not feeling guilty about it.

So should we talk about the game? Probably not, since I really don't know anything about football. My niece is a diehard Patriots fan, so I know the final score wasn't quite what she was hoping for. Here's my take: I really appreciated the sportsmanship from the Eagles. Even though my knowledge of football is slim to none, I have been sick to death of all the nastiness from all the teams this year. It was refreshing to see (and hear!) some good things this time. That's just my opinion. You're welcome to disagree.

For a girl who doesn't understand the game or really have a care about this one, I did get some high BP at the end:
Ryan was happy! (About the outcome, not my high BP.)

And my favorite commercial? By far the Eli Manning commercial. The rest didn't do anything for me. I think this is the first year I've been that thoroughly disappointed with the commercials.

Did you have a different favorite?

All those Eli commercials were amazing, he is adorable!!
I'll find the article for you - about how the Eagles do good all over the place not just on the field!

Agree about the Eagles and their sportsmanship- we actually didn't watch a single NFL game this year (including the Big Game) for the first time ever. So, no, I don't have a favorite commercial since I saw nary of them. But, the food you made looks delicious. I'll bet Ryan loves that buffalo chicken dip that's popular at get togethers.

hi bekah!
I love your food posts!
All of your yums look amazing especially those mini pizzas!
I loved the game because the eagles won and their quarterback is such a good guy! I also loved Justin Timberlake i would see him in concert anyday. :)

We eat such random things lately that i think super bowl was a bowl of popcorn (so big it could hold a beach ball I swear) and i drank kombucha. lol

Hope you are doing great! XO!
