Sunday was our six month anniversary. We celebrated while knee deep in kitchen renovation messes. LOL!!
I'm one of those weirdo saps who loves to celebrate any and every month of relationship because I believe every month together is a cause for great joy. It means you've lived through another month of life...and let's face it: life can be awfully cumbersome at times. Embarrassing as it is to admit out loud, this relationship is the longest consistent relationship I've ever had, and I celebrate that. I celebrate that Ryan continues to wake up every day and say, "I choose this one." I celebrate that my own quirky approach to life and marriage has been embraced, and I celebrate that someone sits beside me for me to love and serve.
I had grand dreams of getting up early and taking a picnic breakfast to the park to eat together before church, but we'd worked so hard on our kitchen all week and the greatest gift we could give ourselves was sleep...so we did. We did treat ourselves to some Rise n Roll donuts and coffee {in our mugs from our wedding} outside in our pirogi before church.
I found it disconcerting and...well...just flat out WRONG that it was actually warmer the morning of our December wedding day {granted, in Florida} than it was on our JUNE six month anniversary. We had to wear sweatshirts and long pants for our breakfast!!!
We went to church, where I did a TERRIBLE job of paying attention, and then we came home to enjoy our first meal in our newly completed kitchen. Here we are posing with our new stove. You see it, don't you? That sliver of white behind us? {Potentially a selfie fail.}
I know you're all dying to know what we had for our first meal in our new kitchen - on our anniversary. Well, don't let me keep you in suspense: LEFTOVER PIZZA!!!!
I love it that I actually have a window on the thing to watch my food cook. I'm a food cooking stalker. I'm convinced it really does cook faster with an audience.
Then we took a four hour nap and after we tried to wake up...we headed out for some dessert and coffee. Sorry we still look so tired!!
One day. One day I will learn I look dead without lipstick. I should have smeared on some of the strawberries!! :)
Thanks, Sweetheart, for working so hard on our kitchen. Best anniversary present EVER! :)

I think it's important to celebrate ALL the anniversaries! Life is a journey and anniversaries are some of its fun milestones. I am excited to see final pictures of the full kitchen renovation and I'm glad your 6 month anniversary gave you a bit of rest from them.
Happy 6 month and here is to many many more :)
Yes this weather has been odd
