Just Some Thoughts

My brain is full. So. So. Full.

So full that I fear I cannot put together a coherent blog for you today. My apologies in advance if that turns out to be truth.

Ever have days when thoughts just tumble over and over in your mind and you can't reach out and grab them to put them in order? Such has been my week.

And from what I'm reading, such has been many of your weeks as well. Kind of wish I could have you all over and we could sit and eat some of this {won't lie...FABULOUS} lemon cake I made last night. We could drink coffee and encourage each other, possibly cry a little bit, and hopefully end up laughing together.

I've learned that when times are good, my journal is filled with the chattering of my brain. Thoughts, hopes, dreams, chronicles of the goodness. And when times are difficult, my brain fills, and I can't grab the words to capture them. So on those days, I rely on the words of Scripture and quotes I find here and there. I write them down, scarcely letting my journal leave my side.

Since it seems many of you are struggling this week with full minds and hurting hearts, may I share some of what I've found with you?

Our feelings never affect God's facts. - Amy Carmichael

God is our refuge and strength; a helper who is always found in times of trouble. - Psalm 46:1

I so love spending time with you each day! Thanks for reading along with our adventures here in Shafferland and understanding days like today, when my brain is full. Hope you found some encouragement here today!

And I'll eat that piece of lemon cake in your honor. :)

Thanks for the verses and quotes today. They were much appreciated.

I went back to the surgeon again today and thankfully it seems that what the nurse was concerned about on Tuesday isn't hopefully any big deal. There is still some concern that my foot is feeling as bad as it is, but the doctor also reiterated that my nerve looked as bad as he had ever seen so it is going to take a long time to heal.

He did, however, mention that there was still the possibility of another surgery (to remove a screw) that might potentially be a problem, but he doesn't think that's it, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

I hope that your brain has some time to rest and catch up with everything going on there.

I love all of the verses and quotes you've shared. Even though I'm not feeling as overwhelmed as I was a few weeks ago, they still spoke to me.
