Ryan and I and have been eyeing the fire pit in my yard ever since we started dating. Seemed like the perfect fall date. So we waited for fall to get here - and then we got incredibly busy and never did a fire pit night. Sunday afternoon was SO beautiful that we took a walk, and while out, Ryan said to me, "This would be a GREAT night to build a fire and roast hot dogs." Okie dokie!!!!!
So we scrapped our initial plans of breakfast for dinner, got what we needed for a hot dog roast, and Ryan proceeded to build a fire! (It went so much better than when it's my job.)
In no time at all, we had a roaring fire going and hot dogs over the open flame. I love it that even though he enjoys a healthy lifestyle, he loves hot dogs!!Taking my turn at the hot dog roast...
One other huge bonus of having a second cook around is...I don't have to be in charge of chopping anymore. It's one of my least favorite cooking chores. So he chopped onion and pepper for us. I'd never had that on a hot dog before.
But now I have!!!
After dinner, we made coffee and kicked back to drink that. It's one of our favorite things to do.
We pulled our chairs over to the fire and were enjoying a great conversation, when we heard a noise.
A big noise.
A noise made by:
Oh yes. The world's biggest raccoon was on the roof of the house next door. And he was most interested in our date. I was most interested in him leaving.
When he did this, I gathered leaving was NOT on the agenda.
Sensing he had won, he peered over the edge at Ryan while Ryan took pictures. (I was safely perched within about 2 steps of the INSIDE>
Needless to say, that was the conclusion of the OUTDOOR portion of our date. But it was so fun! So glad we had a beautiful evening to build a fire!!

Ummmm, that milkshake is awesome! It starts out with a little crunch, and then the cereal starts getting soft and the cinnamon starts mixing with the vanilla in the milkshake. I probably like it a little too much ;)
I'll have to find you on Pinterest. Here's a link to me. Come to think of it I should probably add this to my sidebar. http://pinterest.com/_emily_rose/
